    Josh Larson – “Critical Decision Making

    8:30 – 11:30am || Swiftel Center

    In the professional arena, the ability to see through the fog, pick out the critical points, and identify a course of action can be the difference between an individual contributor and a highly effective leader. 
    During this workshop, we will discuss some of the approaches to critical decision making.  We will learn skills to improve our ability to weigh complex information and pick out what is meaningful.  We will also work through real-world case studies in order to practice an approach to successfully make critical decisions.”
    - Grew up in Marshall, MN
    - Enlisted in the US Navy after high school
    - Selected to attend the US Naval Academy Preparatory School
    - 2006: Graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry
    - Earned graduate certificate in Leadership & Management from the University of Maryland, University College
    - Completed two tours as a Naval Officer
    - Earned awards that include the Joint Meritorious Unit Award and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal
    - 2011: Resigned from active duty and entered manufacturing.
    - Experienced in management roles including Engineering, Quality, Production, Continuous Improvement and Operations.
    - Currently serves as Director of Operations for AmesburyTruth.
    - Remains active in the Naval Reserves and serves as Commanding Officer for Beachmaster Unit 2, Detachment 208 in Kansas City, Missouri.
    - Holds an MBA with a concentration in leadership studies from Liberty University.
    - Spoken to audiences that include Members of Congress, Analysts at the Center for Strategic & International Studies and manufacturing firms at various conferences.
    - Partners with military recruiters to help prepare transitioning veterans for interviews.
    - Lives in Sioux Falls, SD with his wife and three boys.
